How To Speed Up Your Browser: Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox is one of the most popular browsers with an easy interface. Learn how to boost the speed of your Firefox browser and use it optimally.

If a page on your browser takes too much time to load, it may be due to the reasons beyond the internet connection speed.  The most common causes of sluggish page load include unnecessary history files, cookies, encrypted pages, virus attacks, java scripts and so on. If you have a good antivirus installed on your computer, it will take care of virus attacks by itself. You can also configure java script settings from the internet options under tools menu. Still you may face the slow speed trauma from your browser. The reason may be the existence of too much temporary data stored on it. You need to clean up the Firefox history regularly if you expect anything great from your browser.

Directly deleting Firefox history

If you want to clear the recent firefox history without much ado, you can find this option under the tools menu. Alternatively, you can press Ctrl + Shift + Del keys to perform this operation.

If you want to keep or delete the files selectively, you will prefer opening the history first. You can gain access to the history by clicking on the history menu on the menu bar and selecting “Show all history”

Another way to do this is by pressing Ctrl + Shift + H keys. The window library will open showing you the history, tags and bookmark options. You can selectively organize your need here.

Another place where you can configure your history settings and feel free is under privacy menu of internet options window. You can find internet options by clicking on tools menu on the menu bar.

The path is-

Tools-------Internet Options---------Privacy-----------History

You can also control the offline storage of data by limiting the size of automatic catch. Be sure not to limit it to a very small size. The catch is helpful in quick loading of the pages that you visit frequently. It is actually an offline copy of the page that you earlier had visited. But don’t extend it too much either.

The usual route to catch management is,

Tools-------Internet Options---------Advanced--------Network---------Offline Storage

The speed is yours to keep if you don’t forget the last word of advice, that is, always update your browser. I will suggest you to keep it in auto update mode. The update option is also located near the network option shown above.
